Feudo di Mezzo's district
The area clearly stands out in the company’s production panorama, due to its vocation for the production of red wines of notable longevity. Located north/northwest of the volcano at a height of 600–650 meters above sea level, the basaltic soils belong to the ancient Mongibello era. Shallow soils with optimal vegetative/productive conditions with an average supply of mineral elements. In this district the topoclimate is characterized by greater ventilation from the North-West / West mainly by dry winds. The varieties bred are traditional ones, namely Nerello Mascalese and Carricante.
